Breast Surgery

Breast surgery deals with the surgical treatment of breast diseases, most notably breast cancer, where early diagnosis can make a meaningful difference to treatment options. At our partner hospital, breast surgeons work alongside medical oncology, plastic surgery, radiology and pathology so that each plan reflects the individual’s diagnosis and preferences. MedLuxLife helps you gather your imaging and biopsy results and arranges a multidisciplinary opinion before any decision is made.

Breast Surgery - specialist hospital care

Treatments and services

Multidisciplinary breast care

Diagnosis and treatment planning involve breast surgery, medical oncology, plastic surgery, radiology, pathology and other specialists as needed.

Lumpectomy (breast-conserving surgery)

Removal of the tumour together with a small margin of surrounding healthy tissue, preserving the rest of the breast.

Total mastectomy

Removal of the entire breast, which may be considered in early- or later-stage breast cancer depending on the individual situation.

Nipple-sparing mastectomy

Removal of breast tissue while preserving the skin and nipple, usually combined with an implant to restore breast shape.

Prophylactic mastectomy

Preventive removal of breast tissue that may be discussed with people at high risk of breast cancer to help reduce that risk.

Individual choice of technique

The surgical approach is selected according to the stage of disease, the patient’s condition and their wishes.
