Adult Bone Marrow Transplantation

Bone marrow (stem cell) transplantation is a complex, multi-stage treatment that calls for close teamwork between laboratories, clinical units and nursing staff. The transplant clinic at our partner hospital brings these stages together under one roof, from diagnostic work-up and treatment planning to follow-up after discharge. MedLuxLife helps adult patients and their families prepare medical records, arrange evaluation and stay well informed throughout a lengthy treatment journey.

Adult Bone Marrow Transplantation - specialist hospital care

Treatments and services

Transplant outpatient clinic

Coordinates assessment, decision-making, treatment and follow-up for patients who are being considered for, or are undergoing, a transplant, reviewing previous treatment, imaging, pathology and laboratory findings together.

Apheresis unit

Collects stem cells from the blood as part of the transplant process.

Stem cell freezing and processing

Processes stem cells and stores them cryogenically in nitrogen tanks, with separate quarantine and main storage, using an automated freezing system.

Flow cytometry laboratory

Analyses blood and marrow cells to support diagnosis, treatment planning and assessment of the response to treatment.

HLA tissue typing laboratory

Performs tissue typing used to assess compatibility between patient and donor.

Genetic diagnostic support

Works alongside a genetic diagnosis centre so that genetic findings can inform diagnosis and treatment decisions.

Protected transplant unit

Treatment takes place in single rooms within a dedicated unit with HEPA air filtration throughout, controlled disinfection on entry and beds that can be converted for emergency care.

Comfort and wellbeing

Rooms are designed with views and patient comfort in mind to support psychological wellbeing during a long hospital stay.

Follow-up before and after transplant

Patients are monitored closely at every stage, and follow-up continues after discharge with the involvement of social support teams.
